DeDreana Freeman is a member of the Durham City Council representing Ward 1. She has served in this role since 2017. As a graduate of Rutgers University, Freeman has a diverse finance and corporate training background. She has been a committed urban alchemist for social and racial justice in historically marginalized communities of color. She also serves on local, state and national boards and works for Durham Children’s Initiative (DCI), a non-profit walking with families towards academic success.
