Known for her signature glasses New York City Councilmember Alicka Ampry-Samuel is proud to represent her beloved hometown of Brownsville Brooklyn in 41st Council District, which also includes the neighborhoods of Ocean Hill, Bedford Stuyvesant, Crown Heights and East Flatbush. After graduating from North Carolina A & T State University and subsequently earning a JD from CUNY School of Law, Alicka continued to make her mark in the political and social spheres in Central Brooklyn. From 2011-2014 Alicka took her talents to Ghana, West Africa managing a human rights portfolio at the US Embassy and upon returning to the US, Alicka dedicated her work towards the betterment of marginalized people in society. Alicka continues to serve and looks forward to making a difference in the world.
